Here is the final part of my story, minna-chan! I hope that you have enjoyed it, angsty and dark though it may be. Please note that all standard disclaimers apply, and I make to claim to own Sailor Moon. Hidden Secrets Epilouge by: Lazuli Usagi felt her mouth open to scream, but she knew that she would hit the bottom before help could arrive. She felt arms close around her, and a warm strong body holding her tight. She looked up to see Mamoru starting down at her, his eyes filled with sadness and tenderness. She wondered why they looked so sad. "Mamoru... you can hold me again! This is wonderful! I'm so happy!" She wound her arms around his neck and hugged him tight, just happy to be in his arms once more. Like everything was perfect again, and she was herself. She opened her eyes again to find that Mamoru had gently placed her down, her hands slowly coming down to rest on his arms. "Mamoru? What is wrong?" "Usagi... love.... I am so glad that you are back with me, but I wish it hadn't been at this price. Twice now, you have been taken from what was rightfully your life.... I am sorry, Usagi..." Usagi stared at him, her eyes wide with confusion. What did he mean? She knew that she died early in her last life... but now? What did he mean? She turned around slowly, not listening to his plea to "not look." Her eyes closed in denial. She realized than that the rain was still falling, but not affecting her. That it was coming down in sheets around her and Mamoru, falling on the roof that she had just fallen off of. The rain soaking into the body that she had worn in this life. She turned to Mamoru. "What... why did I not feel any pain? Nor hitting the bottom?" She demanded. Mamoru's eyes met hers, and he looked almost ashamed. "It's because you were not in your body when you hit the ground. I... managed to take you away at the point of death...." He looked away from her, unable to meet her gaze any longer. "Mamoru.. I am not mad at you... but I just didn't understand.... " Her voice trailed off as she kneeled next to the body. Her body. The girl lay crumpled on the ground, her blond hair plastered to her face by the rain, and mixing with the quick forming mud on the ground. Usagi felt an urge to go back into that body. To show her family that she was all right. But even she could see that her soul going back into the body wouldn't bring it back to life. It was already too late. The fall would have killed her instantly as it were. Her lip trembled as she thought of what her mother's reaction would be to lose a daughter.. to find her lying on the ground like that... She looked up at Mamoru, almost pleading, hoping that he would guess her intention. She wasn't sure if she wanted to vanish... or to be found like this. Her mother would be hurt either way. Mamoru held her tight aganist him. "You didn't have this problem last time, did you?" He asked. Usagi shook her head. "No, I didn't.." She whispered. She glanced at the house, though, almost willing her mother to come out, so that Usagi's body would not be damaged anymore by the rain. "You can contact her in a dream, you know.. to let her know that you are fine... and not to worry. It might make things much easier for her to bear." Usagi nodded, and turned her eyes to Mamoru, to leave her past behind, and to think of a future with him... forever. But first.. she walked over to her house, and inside, to where her mother was resting. "Mother... if I vanish, please do not worry about me... I'm... I'm with Mamoru now... I'll miss you..." Usagi could not say much more, emotion was making it hard to communicate. "Don't worry about me... please..." Usagi's mother turned over in her sleep, her brow creasing, then she shot up out of bed, and out the door. Usagi followed her, but could not bear to watch her mother's reaction over her death. She quickly vanished from the house, to appear in front of the ruins, which were no longer ruins. "Usagi... it will be fine... I swear it will." Usagi smiled at Mamoru, happy that he was here for her, and that she could finally be with him forever. She twirled around, trying to lose her sorrow in her happiness, hoping that nothing would ever interfere with Mamoru and her again. Her heaven was in this forest, where she had found love, and she knew that never again would she leave. There! It's done! What do you think, minna? I know it was a very sad story the whole way through. Gomen nasai for that!! *sighs* I did try!! Please, feedback!!
