Standard Disclaimer Hidden Secret Chapter Six by: Lazuli Usagi opened her journal again, wondering what else it could hold. She knew that there were no more journal entries, but perhaps there was something. Some clue to as how it got to her old room, in her old house. This had been something that Usagi had to have had on her when she died. Or close to it. She flipped through the pages more, and found another entry, or rather a note penned into the pages. It was faded now, but it held an explanation that Usagi had been looking for. She read it to herself carefully, trying to decipher the old words. For some reason, these words were hard to read, and Usagi's were not. August 4, 1875 I have finally found Usagi's journal. I have not read it, for I wished to respect her name, but I also have decided to return it to her somehow. I know that she was in trouble, and that she vanished from the hospital where she had been taken. I have met and spoken with Mamoru myself, and I know that Usagi was not crazy, and that she and Mamoru were truly in love. I only hope that one day this journal gets returned to the one who it belongs too, and somehow my words can help to erase the mistakes of the past. I know that Usagi and I did not know eachother for very long, but I hope with all my heart that wherever she is now, Mamoru is with her. Aiaka Usagi wiped away the tears that had trickled down her face. She knew, from a base point of view, that her and Mamoru had *some* time together. She just didn't know why they weren't together now. It was frustrating to know that you loved someone, felt that love and the longing for that person, and they were not there. When you had no proof that they were there, and you missed them. She wished that he was here now. She felt the arms wrap more tightly around her, then a brush on her face, as if someone was stroking her cheek. The tears fell faster, then, for she *knew*, she just *knew* that Mamoru was there... and she couldn't see him or hear him... just feel the barest bits of his presence. "Mamoru... I know that you are there...I miss you. I know that you can't make yourself heard... and that you are trying... but I miss you.. please stay by me." The last line was spoken in a whisper, and Usagi just let herself cry... she felt another's emotions, seperate, yet linked to her own, and knew that Mamoru was crying along with her. About fifteen minutes later, she stood up, feeling drained, but she couldn't stay still any longer. She wondered if she could make her way back to that time in school that she had visited before. She wondered if she could talk to Aiaka. Somehow clear her name. Her eyes misted over again. She wished that she could be with Mamoru as well, but she knew he would be by her side. She also knew, by the depth of the emotions that she was getting from him, that he was missing her more than she was him. She had no actual memories of their time together. He experienced everything, and knew her as a person, and missed her. She missed the love and security that he was... missed him by her. But she had no memories... but in someways that was more heart-wrenching.... Mamoru sighed and stared at his Usagi. He wished that she *could* see him, but at the moment it was impossible. Unmei had broken that tie with the forest that had given him the power to be seen, and to move the space around him at will. Now he was an ordinary spirit, tied to Usagi, and the journal that connected her with her own past. He had viewed the scene that had conspired between Usagi and the one who was supposed to be his future self. He saw and felt Usagi's heart break. He knew that she had hoped that Unmei had done her job, and that they had both been reborn together. He still wasn't sure why *he* wasn't. He had not been able to contact Usagi at all until she had found the journal, which he had managed to place in the secret drawer. Before he had only been able to observe her, and only at certain moments. It was aching... to be so close, yet not be able to hold Usagi, and tell her how much he loved her... how much he wanted to be with her. He wondered where Unmei was in all this mess. A tap on his shoulder sent him spinning around, for there stood the girl that was the cause of all this. "Mamoru...I want to explain some things to you now. About why you were not reborn... it was a mistake, I will admit to that. But... hear me out. You are not the only one feeling pain that you can not reach your beloved." There were tears in Unmei's eyes as she struggled to speak. At this point, they were standing near the modern Mamoru... the one he was supposed to be born into. Unmei noticed his gaze and smiled slightly. "It might be easier for you if you thought of him as Yuukan Tsuyoi." She said. "I don't know if you remember him... but he was the one that helped out our family... he set up a diversion so that our family could get safely out of town. He was caught, though, and killed. I know that you know this. What alot of people didn't know was that....that...we were engaged...he had proposed to me the night before all that happened. I..love him.. and I guess that when I saw you and Usagi...and then I thought of him...your spirit and Yuukan's had gotten switched.... he was reborn.. and you were not. I am sorry, Mamoru. I truly am. There is only one way for this to be remedied. Usagi and I have to switch places." Mamoru stared at her for a few moments, happiness trying to take over, then despair fell once again. "And how am I supposed to get this across to her? She doesn't truly remember me, and I can't even speak to her! It is impossible!" Unmei shook her head. "It will be difficult, and tedious at times, and much hard work. You just have to streghten your bond with Usagi again. Visit her as often as you can. Try to reach her in every way possible. That is the advice that I have for you, Mamoru. Go to Usagi now. I want to be left with *my* beloved, no matter what form he is in right now. I need to work at contacting him as well." With those words, Mamoru felt himself be shoved away from Unmei, and stood in front of Usagi once again. He saw that she had been crying again. That much was obvious. She was curled up in her bed, her face wet with tears, and her arms clutching the precious journal. Perhaps she realized that was one thing that connected the two of them, and made their bond stronger. He sat down on the bed next to her, and gently stroked her hair, noticing her shivering when he touched her. He winced. He didn't want to bring her pain. She surprised him, though, by reaching out, and grabbing where his hand should be. And even more to his surprise, she grabbed on to his fingers, and held tight. Not much of a cliffhanger, but it's a try. Do you like, minna? Feedback, onegai??!!
