Again, Inu Yasha does not belong to me

Again, Inu Yasha does not belong to me! I hope that you all enjoy the second part of this story!

Kikyo stared at the girl in front of her. Kagome. The one who had released Inu Yasha from his sleep, and brought with her the Shikon no Tama. She clenched her fists. Why did that jewel have to come back to her? She thought that she had finally released it, brought it to a new life, a new world, but it was back again, taunting her, just as Inu Yasha’s awakening was taunting her. She gripped an arrow out of habit, but she knew that she would not be able to use it. She simply glared at Kagome, and the demon was lounging behind her, his expression petulant.

“Oi! So you are Kikyo…” Inu Yasha’s voice startled her, and she looked into his eyes, amazed by the flash of sadness she saw there. She took a deep breath and put down the arrow, her left arm twitching. It still ached from the attack she had on it before. She was glad that she had not lost the arm.

“I am, Inu Yasha. If I had my powers, you would be sealed back to that tree faster than you could pull out your claws.”

Inu Yasha’s expression was hurt for a moment, and then he glared at her full force. “Yeah, betray me again, bitch. I’m going out of here for a moment.” He jumped up and walked out the door, Kagome looking at him.

“What happened?” She whispered. “I know he was sealed to the tree… but why? Is he really a demon?” Her expression led Kikyo to believe that this child did not believe in youkai or hanyou.

“Inu Yasha tried to steal the Shikon no Tama fifty years ago from our temple. I caught him, and sealed him to the tree. He is a hanyou, not a full demon. His mother was human.”

Kagome looked outside where Inu Yasha had gone. “A real demon… Jii-chan would never believe it…” Some tears fell from her eyes, and she hastily wiped them away.

“Kagome… who are you? You show up to free Inu Yasha, and you look like me. You carry the Shikon no Tama. Where are you from?”

Kagome bristled at the woman’s harsh tone. She must have been carrying some type of hatred throughout the years about herself or that mysterious jewel for that type of spite to be burning through her eyes. Kagome didn’t feel sorry for her though. She was rude.

“My name is Kagome. I am from Tokyo. I realize that I have fallen back in time.”

The younger one of the old woman stared at her. “Kikyo-onee-sama… do you think that she is your reincarnated self from the future? Is that possible?”

Kikyo shrugged and peered at the girl. “It may be true, Kaede. It may be true.” Kagome had enough of the questioning. She was going to see if she could get back to her world. She gripped the jewel around her neck and snuck out the door while the two old ladies were contemplating the two souls existing at the same time in the same place.

“Hey, you! Come down from there!” Inu Yasha looked down at the girl in the strange kimono that was calling him. She held a basket of some type of food in her hands, and she gestured at the ground below him.

“If you don’t come down, Inu Yasha…” Her voice trailed off. “Feh! Why should I come down next to you? You are the one that controls this damn collar around my neck. Baka.”

“Osawuri.”  Inu Yasha felt the spell’s power yank him to the ground, and he glared at Kagome.

“Bitch.” He snarled, and she just put a piece of fruit in his hand. “Ungrateful little dog. Who was the one who awakened you?”

He glared at her. “You did, wench, but you are nothing but a trick. You and Kikyo-baba are planning to seal me again, aren’t you? This spell was only the first step, wasn’t it?”

Kagome smacked him upside the head. “Baka! Why would I seal you? I don’t even know how to do it, and Kaede said that Kikyo no longer has her miko powers. That she lost them when she sealed you to the tree.”

“Feh. Serves her right. Stupid bitch betrayed me.” His eyes narrowed as he glanced the direction of Kaede and Kikyo’s home. Kagome’s eyes widened.

“Fine, then… be a touchy bastard. Nobody is giving me a clear answer! I am going to go home, Inu Yasha. I am taking the jewel with me. Sort out whatever problems you have with Kikyo, but don’t glare at me like I am the cause of them! I am not she.”

He glared at her. “Baka. You smell like her, you look like her… and those old ladies in there say that you are here, just reborn. You are her to me. I am not going to care if you leave or not. Just give me the damn jewel and I won’t hurt you.”

“OSAWURI!” Inu Yasha slammed into the ground with the force of her sit, and by the time he got the strength to move from his position, Kagome was already gone.

            “Kuso…”

Kaede called for Kagome, wondering where she could have gone. One moment she was in the hut, talking to Kikyo-onee-sama, and then she was gone completely. She came across Inu Yasha leaning against a tree, and cornered him. She was about to question him severely about Kagome’s whereabouts when he opened one eye and smiled at her.

“I would watch what I say, Kaede-baba. Kagome’s not around to tell me to sit. What’s to stop me from running wild?” Kaede glared at him. “You still want the Shikon no Tama. The only one who has it is Kagome. You don’t even know where she is from, ne?”

Inu Yasha glared at her. “I know that she is nothing but Kikyo reborn! Another damn Miko to betray me and try to kill me, guarding the one thing that I need to become a full youkai, instead of a hanyou bastard.”

Kaede cleared her throat, nervous. She couldn’t take Inu Yasha’s side. Kikyo had stated that Inu Yasha had betrayed her. She had the wounds to prove it…but Inu Yasha might not think that. She didn’t know what to do.

“Well, I believe that she went home, Inu Yasha. Go to the Bone Eaters well, and find her before she falls into more danger.”

“Find her, Inu Yasha. I need to talk to her about the enemies that are after the Shikon no Tama. If you want that jewel to fall into your hands at any point, then you must protect her! Do you understand?”

Inu Yasha nodded, bored. What did he care for that strange girl? She was going to be nothing but trouble. He tugged on the beads, hoping that the lack of Kagome’s presence would mean that he would be able to remove the beads. They stayed around his neck and he sighed, giving into the old lady. He had no choice. He wanted the jewel. There was no way that the girl would leave with it. He would find some way…

Kagome trudged through the forest, hoping that she would come across the Bone Eater’s well soon, so that she could go back home. She paused by the Sacred Tree, which Inu Yasha had been sealed to for such a long time. The roots of the tree lay broken all around it, from where he had burst of the tree, attacking the centipede mononoke. She trembled. Had everything truly happened? Or was she having a bizarre dream? She leaned against the tree, and nearly screamed when something jumped down in front of her, amber eyes glaring into her own.

“Feh. You think that you are leaving? I won’t let you go.” Kagome was backed into the tree as Inu Yasha moved in closer, one clawed hand reaching for the necklace. Kagome started to panic, and her mind blanked out, until she saw Kikyo with an arrow pointed straight at Inu Yasha.

“I...Inu…Yasha! Osawuri!” Inu Yasha hit the ground, the jewel gleaming in the air where he was. Kagome felt herself get yanked down just as the arrow Kikyo shot at them thudded into the Shikon no Tama.

Inu Yasha fell to the ground just as he heard the sound of an arrow whizzing towards them, and he yanked Kagome to the ground, the jewel taking the brunt of the hit. Wait…the Shikon no Tama? He heard a shattering sound, and a single piece of the jewel landed in his hand.

“A shard of the Shikon no Tama?” He was in shock. He threw Kagome to the side, and went to throttled Kikyo, no matter if she had a quiver of arrows. She looked to be in too much pain to do any more damage to him, and he glared at her. He couldn’t believe that he once had feelings for her; she who destroyed his dreams twice.

“You bitch. You will die for that…” He growled at her, and she backed up, her expression of terror too much even for him. “Get up. Do you know how to get those shards of the jewel back?” She shook her head, clambering up.

“I don’t. I don’t have any power left. I was going to kill that spirit…that girl there who looks like me. What do you see when you look at her, Inu Yasha? Do you see me? Do you see how easy it was to betray a girl?”

Inu Yasha restrained the urge to smack her for her stupidity. He knew that something had to have happened to turn her against him like this. It couldn’t just be Kagome.

“You said that this girl looks like you. Does she have your power as well? Can she sense the shards of the jewel?” He demanded, not caring to ask Kagome who was sitting, dazed, a few feet away.

“She should! Ask her, not me! I’m through with this, Inu Yasha. I warn you though, with all the pieces that the jewel is in, you will never be able to fulfill your dream of becoming a full youkai. You will see.” Kikyo spun on her heel and limped out of the forest, leaving Inu Yasha to stand by stunned as she marched away.

His sensitive ears caught the sound of someone trying to sneak away through the grass, and he whirled around, jumping in front of Kagome once more.

“Where do you think you are going? You heard her. You can see the jewel shards can’t you? And I wouldn’t bother lying.” He said softly. “I can smell a lie on you.”

Kagome’s heart speed up. “I… I can sense them.” She whispered, sounding defeated. “It’s not my fight, though! I’m going home to my family! I know that they will probably be worried about me. Now…OSAWURI!”

Inu Yasha fell to the ground again. “You must really like yanking that leash, bitch. I’m not some tame mutt that you can order around, though.” The spell wore off and he leapt in front of Kagome, failing to ignore that flames in her eyes.

“Osawuri! Osawuri! Osawuri! Osawuri! Osawuri!” Inu Yasha groaned as she screamed at him. He wouldn’t be able to move for a while. He watched as Kagome ran to the well, and jump over the edge of the well.

Stupid wench. She could hurt herself jumping into something like that. Does she really think that will lead her home? It might just think that she is a mononoke and eat her bones, too.

Somehow the thought of her being devoured by the well was unpleasant to him, and he fought the power of the prayer beads to no avail. “KUSO!”

Kagome hoped that this would lead her back home. This well was what had led her to the feudal age, and now it would take her back to her time. She felt like she was floating through space, and then she landed with a thump on the ground in her own well. She recognized the difference in the air… it was more stifling, and there was no sunlight no fall over the rim of the well. Grabbing onto the ladder on the side of the well, she emerged over the edge just in time to get a bucket full of sake thrown in her face.

            “Jii-chan!”

Kagome sighed as she relaxed on her bed. It was like she was waking up from a strange dream. She did not fall through the well and emerge on the other side of it. She didn’t met a hanyou, or some crazy old ladies who said the she was the protector of the Shikon no Tama. She would never be going back. Inu Yasha could search for the pieces of the jewel that he wanted so badly himself.

I don’t need to get involved in this. There is nothing that can make me go back.
